Longing

EVE (30s), a married mother of two, who is on a short business trip in London. Alone in her hotel room on the night before her flight, she gives into a temptation and looks up queer events happening in the area. She ends up at a Pride month film festival where by chance she meets the free-spirited, but recently broken-hearted, LENA (late 20s).

There’s an immediate connection between the two and after the film they spend the night walking around the city and talking about their differences as queer women from different parts of the world. Their connection is undeniable, but Eve’s inevitable departure hangs over them both. As the sun begins to rise over the city, Lena walks Eve back to her hotel. The tension between them is palpable, but before anything more happens, Eve finally confesses that she has a husband and two children back home in Malaysia. Although shocked at first, Lena eventually understands Eve has not had the same choices in life as her, having grown up in a country that punishes rather than protects queer love. The two passionately kiss and go up Eve’s hotel room where they finally sleep together, causing Eve to miss her flight home.
